The Netherlands' leading online hifi magazine, hifi.nl, published a review by René van Es, who was fascinated by the fact that the LS1 is so different from any other system he auditioned. His verdict is: "A system that belongs to the current top class of high end audio, at a very reasonable price in relation to the quality. A system with such low distortion and such high neutrality that you may probably have to get used to it."

Peter Breuninger of AV Showrooms did an interview with our US distributor Bill Parish during the Axpona show in Chicago. Bill introduces the LS1 to the viewer in his typical cheerful way. A couple of weeks later Peter interviewed Bruno Putzeys at the Newport Beach show. Bruno informs him about some backgrounds of the LS1 design. Both videos are well worth a view!

We took some nice 'living room setting' pictures of the LS1 in a beautiful villa in Eindhoven. These will mainly be used for press promotion via our hi-res pictures page, but please don't hesitate to take a look...

Our Dealer of the Year award 2014 goes to... Berlin dealer Max Schlundt of Kultur Technik! In the picture you see Max who just received the award (a 3D printed LS1 model) out of the hands of Grimm Audio's Christian Reichardt, during our 10th anniversary celebration event at the High End Munich show. Congratulations Max!

"Grimm Audio hits the floor of the Berlin AES show with an 8 channel 1-bit A/D converter aimed squarely at the audiophile end of the market." With this text Grimm Audio and the AD1 were introduced to the world exactly 10 years ago today at the AES in Berlin. Please join us at the Munich High End show May 15th till 18th, to celebrate this special event.

Scott Hull was 'bedeviled' by the LS1 during the Axpona high end show in Chicago and wrote a catching review about it. "I got to hear lots of different kinds of music. Overall, the sound was nuanced, powerful, and extremely detailed — this Grimm system managed to do a whole lot of things extraordinarily well. (...) Frankly, I’m amazed at how much tech got crammed into those two cabinets. (...) If you’ve got space concerns — or clutter concerns — but cannot be asked to sacrifice audio quality, this Grimm may have your name all over it."

The German AUDIO magazine has awarded the LS1 with "best innovation prize 2014". We are very honoured with this trophy. The beautifully crafted glass piece is in-scripted with the following text: "For the fully digital, fully active, well-timed, and also marvelously good sounding loudspeaker LS1." A real boost to us!

We are very pleased to announce that the LS1 playback functionality has been upgraded with DSD and DXD capabilities. All LS1i (USB Interfaces) that will be shipping from now on will have a DSD 64fs and DSD 128fs playback function. Playback of PCM files at 24bit/384kHz ("DXD") is also supported. Existing LS1 customers can update their LS1 USB interface themselves, please read the update instructions linked at the LS1 web page. Additional news is that the LS1 USB Interface can now be used with Windows 8 and Linux. The USB Interface has also become more attractive and sturdy by using a metal case and an anodized stainless steel top cover.

We are happy to inform you that iDeal Audio has become our Pro Audio distributor for all the Benelux countries. We have a long relationship with iDeal Audio for our Belgium sales and decided to extend that by offering them our distribution for The Netherlands. We believe that managing director Matthias Aerts will enforce our position in The Netherlands pro market further and look forward to cooperating even more strongly.

All Grimm Audio EBU and ATSC loudness plugins and apps have been updated. We now support Avids AAX format in our LevelView realtime loudness meter plugin and LevelNorm loudness normaliser plugin. We also added a new 'Link' function to LevelView that offers instant update of the program loudness display when remixing parts of the program. LevelNorm and our batch normaliser LevelOne now have Dolby Dialog Intelligence gating on demand of the US market. More news for LevelOne is it can losslessly normalise MP3 files and you can build a Droplet of a preset for an even quicker workflow. The best loudness tools have become even better!
